Review by hotel critic
As a marine biologist and avid ocean lover from Nassau, I recently had the chance to stay at the Royal. While the service staff were welcoming and attentive-making our dinners quite pleasant-the overall experience left much to be desired. Our room featured a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and an electric kettle, but the neglected state of the furnishings was hard to ignore. A sagging mattress and poor soundproofing dampened our comfort, making restful nights elusive. The breathtaking mountain views were a highlight when weather permitted, and the daily housekeeping kept the space tidy. Coffee lovers will appreciate the complimentary supplies, but the price of the stay seemed disproportionate to the amenities offered. It's worth considering the balance of luxury versus value here. For the price point, I can't wholeheartedly recommend the Royal, even with its decent location near the Bogar Botanic Garden.
